Terrorist

The operation launched by the military against those aiding terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir over the past month is showing results. Those known as over ground workers (OGWs) who earlier provided shelter and information about military convoys to terrorists are now providing information to the security forces.

According to security officials, 20 such OGWs have been apprehended in a month. The properties of more than 15 people have been seized. An encounter on Thursday was initiated based on their information. An OGW informed the military forces that Farooq Nali, one of the oldest commanders of Hizbul Mujahideen, was in Behibagh, Kulgam. Nali was a category A++ terrorist with a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.

No shelter to terrorists; 60% terrorists are foreign

95% of terrorists are active in Jammu and Kashmir, of which 60% are foreigners. There are about 60 terrorists in Jammu’s Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, and Kishtwar, and 35 in the valley. A military official said that once all the OGWs are captured, the terrorists won’t be able to survive for even a week. 95% of the operations against terrorists are being carried out in the forests because the locals are not providing shelter. Top terrorist Junaid Ahmed Bhat, involved in the killing of seven terrorists in Ganderbal, was also killed in the Dachigam forest.

Inform about OGW, get a reward

12 teams of security agencies in the valley are searching for OGWs. Information is being passed to suspected helpers that those who provide information about terrorists will be rewarded.
